To My Aunt Shacona,

It is my prayer that you and your new husband have a wonderful life together. I hope this prayer forever reminds you of this special day, when you committed yourselves before God, to become “one”.  May the words of this poem bring you healing in times of sorrow,  bring you comfort in times of trouble, and bring you laughter and peace in times of  joy.

                   Dear Heavenly Father,

I  Shacona and Damiel

As we recite this our prayer

Trust in God for the happiness

That our lives together will share

As the years come and go

We will probably fuss and fight

Help us to always forgive each other

Before we say goodnight

Help us to always remember

That it is God’s precious love

Given to seal our marriage

Sent from heaven above

Father, please give us the courage

To overcome the trials of life

To be kind as individuals

To be devoted as husband and wife
